As per the sources, the sahayaks, who will be expected to work from 8 am to 8 pm, will pay a visit to the residences of taxpayers and explain them the procedure of filing tax. Along with facilitating timely payment of tax, the decision is expected to simultaneously increase the number of taxpayers.

As informed by Rajdutt Gahlot, Chairman, Standing Committee, a unique token number would be generated upon receiving the request from the taxpayer. The number would be shared with the citizen for future references. A nominal fee would be charged from the taxpayer once the transaction is completed. As of now, the fee has been capped at Rs 100 per transaction.

Along with the payment of property tax, the new system will also facilitate the filing of property tax return online through mobile or web application. The decision to introduce this system has been taken in cognisance of the corporation’s futile attempts to increase net tax.
